"The Covered Bridge" Needle Art
Needlework art of the old covered bridge over Chester Creek at Westtown Road created by Penni Briggs '38. The history of the piece is that for "check-out" the girls were permitted to walk on Westtown Road to the Covered Bridge and back. At the bridge, the girls would make a wish and then try to walk across without taking another breath. If you made it, your wish would come true.
